The History of Duckmart Siem Reap

The beginning of an Era!

Three years ago, Chris and his team, led by his staff Porn, embarked on a humble venture—a small duck farm just 5 kilometers away from Siem Reap’s city center. Starting with a modest group of 10 males and 7 females, their vision swiftly expanded. Investing in their first incubator marked the beginning of a transformative journey. Over the following year, Chris and Porn nurtured the duck population to around 150 despite facing various challenges like flooding, diseases, and breeding difficulties.

Undeterred by setbacks, they poured their efforts into the farm, progressively growing the duck community. Their surplus of duck eggs found eager buyers in neighboring minimarts and locals. In 2022, spurred by new aspirations, Chris’s girlfriend left her job in the hotel industry, and together, they opened their pioneering minimart. The first location along Road 30 in Siem Reap saw a swift two-week launch before relocating to a larger, more prime spot on Funky Lane.

The expanded space inspired Chris to introduce the first 9ft tournament pool table. Its presence quickly captured the attention of pool enthusiasts across Siem Reap. Duckmart soon supplied two teams for the Siem Reap Pool League. Within just four months of opening, Duckmart acquired a second tournament pool table, gearing up to host weekly competitions for up to 16 people.

After three months of spirited pool competitions and immense joy at Funky Lane, Chris and Mon set their sights on further expansion, relocating to riverside opposite the Royal Independence Garden in Siem Reap. This new, spacious location brims with potential. Duckmart embraced a new era, regularly hosting live music events, pool competitions, and more, promising an exciting future ahead.
